The Treebate program has officially returned for year 2- starting on Monday 3 August 2026, bringing new rules that make it easier to green your yard.

**Even if you already claimed a rebate during the first year, you are eligible to apply again for this round.**

The biggest change is that your $150 total rebate limit can now be split across up to 5 native trees in a single transaction, rather than being restricted to just one tree.

To qualify, you need to be a WA resident aged 18+. You must buy your trees from a commercial nursery or retailer in WA like Primal Fruits Perth.

Private purchases from platforms like Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree are not accepted. The trees you select must be Australian native species that will reach a height of over 3m at maturity.

Soil, mulch, or extra garden supplies are not covered by the scheme.

Claiming the rebate requires two main pieces of proof. You will need a photo of the plant label showing the common or scientific name of each tree, along with a valid, itemised tax invoice from the nursery.

The invoice must clearly display the business name, ABN, tax invoice number, purchase date, total cost with GST, and the specific tree details. Your name doesn't need to be on the invoice.

Handwritten invoices or handwritten additions will automatically invalidate your claim.

The fastest way to get your cash back is through the ServiceWA app. Once logged in using your Digital ID at a standard identity strength, navigate to the Discovery tab, select the Offers tile, choose Treebate, and upload your documents.

Payments are typically deposited directly into your bank account within 4-7 business days. If you prefer not to use the app, paper claim forms can be posted with 100 points of ID, though these take up to 30 days to process.

ISSUES? treebate@dwer.wa.gov.au. your tree not yet on the list? Ask it to be added.
